The date of Clarke’s debut fight is yet to be officially announced, as is his first opponent, but it could be in February on the undercard of the Manchester grudge match between Kell Brook and Amir Khan.

Until then, he will be training hard with the help of Angel Fernandez, who has worked with Joshua in the past.

And AJ will be acting as a mentor for his fellow Brit – something which Clarke says he will not take for granted.

“Anthony Joshua is on the end of the phone and he’s one of those people that’s been there and done it,” the 30-year-old added.
